A creative way to learn the basics of computational thinking.

We are very pleased to announce that our Erasmus+ project “Creative Coding” has been selected for funding. 🤩

Together with our partners BRG Kepler (Austria), Vilniaus Trakų Vokės gimnazija (Lithuania) and Het Fluoriet (Netherlands) we will inspire students to use programming as a tool to upcycle a workpiece.

Design - Code - Embroider - Wear

The “Creative Coding” project promotes STEM interest and key digital skills through practical output and tangible benefits.

Moreover, it is worth noticing that the creative coding topic is very exciting and interesting for both girls and boys, as detailed in the sequel.

The project contributes to the acquisition of digital skills and the ability to network internationally, as students and teachers of transnational European countries will practice creative coding, using for instance traditional patterns and designs of their own culture.

The students consider different motifs e.g. country-specific motifs and design a pattern for this on paper. They then convert the pattern for the use of an electronic embroidery machine utilising the visual programming language “Pocket Code / Embroidery Designer”.
